Should I go for 780ti or 980?

Hi Guys,

I have made a post in the general section about a system that I am planning to purchase on the 28th of October.

I'm not well versed with the new components out, and I was hoping someone could advise me if I should go for a 780ti or a 980.

It will be for gaming on a single monitor at 1920x1080, the games being pretty much everything on steam and I would like to run them at maximum graphics.

I know that the 980 is a better card, but is it worth the money over the 780ti? I want this to last for the next few years.

I was umming and ahhing but went with the 780Ti in the end. Helps that I got it second hand for £200 as well.

But given new prices I still think the 780Ti is by far the better card in terms of value. But then at the high end each little bit extra power costs a lot more than at the mid-end, it's just how it works.

If you can afford the 980 and don't mind paying the extra £100 for an extra 10% performance go for it. If not, drop £300 on a 780Ti.

Personally, I'd sooner drop £270 on a Galax 970 OC
