Hi all, recently I have been setting up a few P4 and celeron based computers to mess around with. Problem with them is they all have locked bios' so I can not do any overclocking.

I am thinking of selling all the computers I have made up and buy (second hand) a i3, psu and motherboard. Now budget wise I will have what I make off the computers and possibly a little more. The rig is just going to be a second rig as I all ready have a 1055T main rig.

It will be used for gaming and overclocking. So should I go for an i3 set up or is there another cpu set up I should look at which I could get on par with the i3?

Many thanks

if you overclock for the fun of it, then an i3 would be perfect, if its more for gaming (on recent games like GTA4, BC2) another option would be a q6600 G0, still got one of them in my cupboard which i might build into a LAN rig, paired with a decent graphics card they are very capable

Yeah I used to have a Q6600. Problem is they hold their value quite well so getting one in budget might be hard. I have just managed to pick up 2gb of DDR3 ram for £10.

I want it to play games but not really bothered about most recent ones.
