Morning all,

I've just got paid today and am thinking about going and getting a touch 8gb. The reason being is i get 10% discount of at the D place, and this means it will cost £150 which is pretty reasonable. I know i could get a 80gb classic for this, but i had a 30gb first gen classic that was simply just storage space, and was virtually never used for video because of its poor battery life. The touch seems cool because 8gb is enough for me, and has lots of cool features that are worth the money.

I have an old 1st gen nano that i will give to my mum or sister that i have been using since.

What is a decent case to get? (no more than £20 though where possible)

Cool,

The one thing that put me off the updated classics was the new browser menu, which can't seem to load up a lot of album art fast enough. I looked at the nano also which has the same browser and didn't particularly like what they had done to it.

What kind of customising can i do with the touch, or is it only the iphones that you can do stuff to (wallpapers etc).

Thanks.

Do videos need to be converted from one format to an apple format like with the first 5th gens? If so, does videora still work well?

Also, can i access my hotmail (email) easily if i am in a wi-fi?

The D website says that the price is slightly cheaper as you dont get the newer apps with this model, so does that mean it will be the 1.1.2 firmware which is able to be jailbroken?

Yeah, via the msn web address. :)

Going out early tomorrow to get it. Still unsure as to whether to JB it at first, or get used to using it first. I've been reading guides for the past 30 mins and it seems very easy to do. Will be reading through your sticky. :)

thx

however I've noticed that u can't use the device as external hard drive, as nothing appears in my computer. all my old iPods could do this:o

There just isn't the market or need to have a decent parametric EQ for 99% of people using them.

Most people just wouldn't know how to adjust frequencies or understand what it is for, so Apple just give bog standard presets that don't at all reflect what is going on with the EQ.

The easiest way to get around this is to buy some decent studio headphones and put on uncompressed music files, but again, to most that would make zero difference to their enjoyment. :o
