should I have both win & Lin or just Linux?

Hi

I am 75% done building my first PC, just waiting for the ram and the network card to arrive and its done. I plan to put Linux on (am thinking unbuntu ) but is it advisable to also have a windows os on my system as well?

This will be my main & only PC and its main uses is for me to learn different programme languages & Linux. I will play the odd game as I have a steam account so fm14 is a must :cool:

Personally I would prefer to keep windows far away from my system but if its advisable for help with drivers ,issues or any other reason am yet to learn then so be it

FM14 is native in Linux

That's good to know,how about support for other programs? Is it better to have windows installed in case I run into other issues?

Depends what programs you use and what sort of performance hit you can take (games).

Check wineHQ out and steam for linux, most if not all of the stuff I use for work runs quite happily in Ubuntu etc, just a wee bit harder to set up.

Thanks will do.

Game wise I only plan to play on the ones on steam like fm14 & fallout 3. This PC is more about learning Linux and computer languages like Python etc.
