I am still using a HD7870 and am looking to upgrade to a 1060/1070.

Should I hold off buying one till prices go down or if there is a new line coming out soon I should wait for?

Thanks

Rumours abound, but there's nothing concrete. There's always something better on the horizon. You can wait, or you can spend your money and start having fun.

Well, some reports say that the price should start to normalise ( whatever that is ) around Q3 this year. But really who knows? Prices could collapse next week. They may never get back to what they used to be. Personally I would be tempted to wait a little more because we are close to the next generation being released.

All rumours.

I’m saving up around £500, and buying whatever I can for that price when I hit my target.

Personally, I don’t think NVIDIA need to release anything this year anyway because AMD don’t have anything competitive, and NVIDIA 2 year old GPU’s are still selling at an inflated price point, to me, there’s no point in NVIDIA releasing anything yet, they could milk the 10xx for another year

How much do you want it l, if you have to pay £100 more but u get to use now instead of September or whatever the rumours are? Is that worth it to you?

It wasnt as much the cost more if I was going to buy outdated hardware if a new model was realising almost after.

In terms of my CPU is that still good enough for a 1060-1080?

What CPU and Res ? I asked the question about bottlenecks and at higher Res bottlenecks don't matter as much

Details in sig.

Core i5-4670k @ 4.2ghz and im in process of upgrading monitor but most likely will be 1080p or 1440p at a push.
