Should I install Steam on my SSD?

Also bare in mind that steam updates games automatically overtime. The updates may not be big but over time you may realise you've running out of space!

I purchased a SSD and use it as my os drive and the only game on it is BFBC2, i would NOT recommend putting steam on an SSD. There are oh so many games you can put on an SSD currently and what with patches hitting the 4+gbs ( witcher 2 ) for example.

I used to install only the main games I am playing on my SSD. These days I can't be bothered with the hassle tbh. Steam really needs a built in feature to make it easier to do.

If it were me I would do it.

But I don't have every single game on my steam list downloaded all the time, there's no point I feel.

Plus I hate loading times which apparently are much better on an SSD.

I have a 128gb vertex 2e and I have steam on it. You can install a lot of games before you will use it up. Just complete the game and uninstall it, I cant imagine that you would need 10 games installed at once.

If you want to backup any games then just copy the game folder over to a back up drive, or storage drive as I have named mine.

Thats pretty much what im for doing, bfbc2 and moh on the ssd, gotta get the drive in this evening, reinstall win 7 and those games.

Install Steam to SSD, and use mklink to link your steamapps folder on another drive. Easy peasy. Steam starts fast, but games don't benefit THAT much from the increased speed.
