Just before Xmas my MSI 290X lightning died on me so I had to RMA back to overclockers , I didn't want to wait until after xmas for a new card so i purchased one of the new MSI 290X LE for £250.00 on the Xmas deal , Bargain I must add :) ..... Today I have just revived my replacement - A brand New MSI 290X LE , Should I keep it and crossfire ? I do plan to get a 4K monitor in the next month or so so was thinking this would help in games , I so believe I would need to upgrade my PSU as well.

Is crossfire worth it or is it just hassle. ?

Revived replacement? It die too? ;)

2x290 is not enough for 4k dont believe the crap you hear, it will run a few games year but struggle with most!

If your going 4K then I would definitely keep it and go crossfire otherwise you will be turning down the settings to get playable framerates.

Whilst it is true 8xAA and solid 60fps on 4K ain't gonna happen, a pair of 290x should be able to deliver playable frame rate of 35-60fps (excluding poorly optimised games- Ubisoft's for example) so long as people don't go crazy with the AA, and drop the graphic setting a little. Very high on 4K would most look look better than ultra on 1920 res 8xAA res anyway.

2x290X cards will run 4K gams nicely at high to near maximum settings, depending on the game. :)

That's a lot of crap right there, there's literally only a few high profile games you can't run at max AA settings.

For 99.9% of games out 4k maxed out is EASY on 1-2 cards.

You got experience of 4k then? Be nice to hear about your first hand evidence.

To OP - the armchair expert you don't want to be listening too is Nines11.
