I have been monitoring my temps on my 6320 and both cores never seem to be the same temps.

Should I lap my CPU and if so, will I get the lowest temp that shows on Coretemp?

Many Thanks

:)

Lapping won't likely resolve differences in temperatures between cores. It's either your cooler not mounted right or poor contact between the core and the IHS.

Time for another 3rd party cooler and some AS Paste then :D........God, the choices of HSF's!!!!!!

I have had the Akasa 961 with Antec Formula 5 for a year so its recycling time.

Cheers Jokester :)

My E6300 is slightly o/clocked to 2.1Ghz and the cores both sit at 40/42 respectively.

I think I could get 'em down a wee bit if I mucked about with reseating the Arctic Freezer on it, but so far no probs to report.

I lapped another E6300 I had as it had a dished IHS and it made very little difference to temps so I'm not so sure lapping will drop yours any, but it might be worth a go, each to his own etc.....

Those temps seem a bit high-ish for the clock - are those idle?

Mine running at the speed in my sig (3.15) is idle at about 39-40 and load goes up to around 53 when playing games. Orthos normally tops out at about 58.

The temps are normally sat between 35-39c idle but I had a few apps running at the time.

Orthos & gaming hits roundabout the same temps as what you get so no probs with the cooling really. Just gonna get a better HSF as I could probably get the temps to 30-35c idle with a Noctua or summat similar.

he has a tjunction of 85.. doesn't that mean a 15 Add on to temps?

In the bios I get temps of 39c idle so I dont think I need to add another 15c on.

That sounds about right, very good value for money that cooler then.
