Im on watercooling overclocked to 3.6ghz. My CORE load temps after an hour or so get to about 80 on all cores according to core temp.

It is a Go revision cpu.

Do I need to lap or are my temperatures ok (bearing in mind it is watercooling)

Would lapping make it a lot better?

Are there any good guides to lapping?

I would not like to have my cpu running at them temperatures.

How effective lapping would be depends on how concave your chip and water block are. If you get a razer blade or a metal ruler or something similar and hold it against your chip and waterblock you will be able to see how concave they are.

What vcore are you putting into the chip?

80deg, is that on all cores?

Id hazard a guess at either, too much vcore, bad connection with block and cpu or poor watercooling and yes 80deg is too hot.

my motherboard automatically set it. On stress cpu-z shows 1.424v. So i reckon it is about 1.5v on the bios.
also it is a P45 deluxe

also my radiator fan is silent and im not sure if it is on 100%, is it at full speed by default

i have a alphacool nexxos extreme pro or extreme single radiator, and i used a block that come with the alphacool starter, and im using the xspc 750lph dual bay pump.

It does take a long time to get to 80 degrees. I have been priming for 10 minutes and it seems to be staying at 68 68 66 66.

Manully set the volts in the bios. The motherboard will be over volting it by quite a bit.

Although i have the same motherboard and cpu and i need 1.5v to get 3.4ghz stable and my temps never go above 70 with a tuniq tower.

Yesterday i primed it for an hour after it had been primed a few times already that day, it got to 80 core temperatures on core temp. But usually it is on about 70c and takes quite a long time on 100% 100% 100% 100% to get to 80 core temps

i have tried that many times! Could it be the pump. It is an xspc dual bay 750lph pump but it has been very loud since i got it.

Waterblock is the one in the alphacool starter retail kit.
