They are about 6ft.5.... You will notice the couch in the pic. and a Atmos speaker on the ceiling.... I'm wondering if my side speakers are to high up and might be deflecting the Atmos speakers?

Is there a general hight rule for side surrounds?

I will look to upgrade the side surrounds soon as there only minx min 12 speakers and thought to ask so I can replace with a lower position, if needed.

Thanks :)

Usually side surrounds should be around ear height when sitting or up to a foot above I believe is what I read when I installed mine so yours are probably a little high.

1 ft or so above seated ear height for wall hanging speakers that have no ability to tilt the direction of the drivers. Yours are too high, but they're small and angled down to face the listening position - or I presume they are. In effect, they're the equivalent of toed-in front speaker aiming at the prime listening position.

Your speaker positions aren't ideal, but given the large expanses of hard reflective surfaces I wouldn't consider the benefit of moving the speaker will make much difference to the sound for one or two people listening from that sofa, and I doubt it would be worth the mess or cost involved to chop out and make good on the finished walls.

My understanding is if not running Atmos ear level or.a bit above is ok.

If running Atmos ear level. So as to not compress the sound field.
