Do I sell the MR2 and get another car (probably an EK Civic) for about 1.5-2k and then get a used bike for £1.5-2k ... or do I just keep the MR2

Keep the MR2 and make it go faster.

You can spend all winter servicing it and making sure it is ready for next summer. There's a massive difference between buying a performance car with potential issues compared to a bike - when they go wrong.

Unless you think you're just going to drop £1,500 on a 150 bhp bike and go off racing without any problems in just your t-shirt and some jeans?

I don't want a 150bhp bike, I want some sort of 600cc thing, such as the ER5 or the Diversion/XJ or something like the Hornet

A comfy traffic commuting bike (for now)
