Should I pull the trigger on a 980Ti?

Right, I'm convinced. Still not sure what the best 980ti is though. Looking at either the EVGA SC or the MSI 6G.

They are all pretty much a muchness but I would be looking for quiet and a good warranty. EVGA, MSI, Gigabyte and now Asus (with OcUK) offer decent support and good quality and I would go with EVGA personally.

I would go with EVGA or ASUS (now with OCUK announcement) and get one now.

I was an early adopter with the 980ti but thats only because I had the money and I managed to get one for £529 which was a pretty good price in the first two weeks.

For a Pascal equivalent to a 980ti I can see it be more expensive as I reckon by the time Pascal arrives the 980ti will still be a good seller. Question is when Pascal does arrive will the 980ti drop in price. Not too sure.

Its all if's and buts yet a 980ti will give you what you want now and still be worth a few hundred come sell on time.

Cheers guys, I went for the Gigabyte extreme in the end, and a couple of 6 to 8 pin adaptors for my psu. I just hope my Corsair 620w is enough to power it.

Enjoy your new 980Ti, it really is a stinking card, and as others are mooting, chances are the first round of pascal will be underwhelming.

One other thing, not sure anyone else picked up from your first post, but don't expect your games to fly if you do go 4K monitor soon. 4K is so punishing on the GPU, and you will need 2 980Tis do do it justice. And therefore a new power supply. Your current one should be just ok for one 980ti and an overclocked system, but I personally like to have more power leeway so the psu doesn't struggle and can keep silent and the fan off.

Hmm Gigabytes new Classified killer, Everyone was raving about the G1 gamings when they released with the 980 and 970 so this should be a pretty good card. Gigabytes the one brand I've never owned,

It'll be interesting to read an owners review if you get the time.

Awesome choice mate. I have the Gigabyte 970 Xtreme and it's a beast! Out of the box it's near 980 stock speeds. Lets us know how you get on with your card once you've had a play :)

I am sure that PSU will be fine but maybe think of upgrading if there is a good deal at some point.

As for Pascal and Polaris, the more snippets I read and absorb, I am starting to think we won't be seeing the big stuff from both till end of the year as a minimum. I do hope I am wrong of course.
