Just planning a bit of an upgrade.

Should I put an X-fi in my Media Centre and take the Audigy out and put it in my gaming rig?

My thinking is that my gaming rig only ever has 2 speakers and the Audigy does a much better job of voice comms in CSS than the onboard

My Media Centre may well benefit from the Crystaliser tech. Will this improve sound from DIVX type files?

Does this sound like a sensible plan to you guys?

this is not what you asked but Ive just got a x-mystique 5.1 Dolby live sound card in my media center

basically my PC is by the TV lol
my PC monitor is extended and i have a wireless KB and mouse
OK this card is running via TOSlink to my Sony HT amp
i also have Yamaha 5.1 speakers
my system is budget the amp was £110 and speakers £75 from richer sounds
but great for my needs

for media centers this card really is the way forward as it gives real Dolby digital sound all of the time great for watching avi's and listening to music as these formats arnt in 5.1 and this card dose a bloody good job of sorting the sound into proper channels

and as i understand it other cards using optical or coax will only playback 2.1 unless your playing a dvd or such

the sound quality is amazing and crystal clear with my onboard sound i used to have my amp volume at 35/40 now having it set at 20 is louder and ive started noticing extra bits in mp3s that i never used to

my noobish ramblings realy dont do this card justice
