Should i remove 512Mb?

Willi get better or worse performance by removing my 2x256MB sticks leaving me with 1GB.

Whats better? 4 sticks giving 1.5GB at 2T or 2 sticks giving 1GB at 1T?

2T doesnt give that much performance hit, if you need more than 1gb, (games + photo/video work) then obviously the 1.5gb will be better but if your computer never adresses more than 1gb of ram then you would be slowing down your computer for no reason.
