Should I replace the PSU?

So I just upgraded my computer to the specs in my sig but I kept my old PSU which is a Corsair HX1000 that I bought about 5 years ago. I've had a number of incidents since the upgrade with my computer just spontaneously rebooting during a game which I put down to the overclock. I thought I'd check how much power I'm drawing from the socket and found that during benchmarks its up to around 870W at peak and during gaming it hovers around 800.
I'm thinking that the PSU has had a hard life (was bought to power a pair of GTX 480s and an i7-920 at 4Ghz back then) and I'm pushing a 5 year old PSU to 80-90% load for prolonged periods which is causing it to show its age.

If I need to replace it is it worth upping the wattage on the new PSU to 1200 or even 1600?

Its a bit random to be honest. Its fine when just browsing the internet etc and most of the time its okay gaming but just randomly it will reboot.

I have seen the pro overclockers moan online and in videos about how a TitanX when overclocked can trip the current protection of a Epower/Gpower power card which is some serious power.

Is that a PSU limit issue or a characteristic of the current draw on the Titan X?

When you upgraded did you do a fresh install of windows?

No I just upgraded the hardware and plugged the OS SSD in. Windows 8.1 then went through and updated the drivers etc to start. Once that was done I installed all the necessary MB drivers.
It doesn't feel like a software issue to be honest. It likely won't get a reinstall until Windows 10 is released.
