Should I return my monitor?

I've just purchased a 23" LG IPS235V and took delivery yesterday, upon testing it out I've noticed a small purple-y coloured patch in the top right quarter of the screen but it's only noticeable on black or very dark pictures.

Could anyone tell me what this is?
I'm in two minds whether to send it back or not

Any help appreciated!

could be magnetic interferance from a speake r or another source or an unsheilded cable so try moving stuff away from it if not yup send it back i would

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think we should be able to rule out magnetic interference from speakers etc.? Isn't that something that only affects CRT monitors? LCDs operate in a different design, which should prevent this sort of thing happening.

But yes, if there's some sort of problem, you should simply send it back. You didn't pay to get a broken product. It should work without any major tinkering. It won't be the seller's problem, either. They'll probably just send it back to manufacturer as defective/faulty (though just a guess). Unless, of course, there's a specific clause on the manual's warranty section that mentions this sort of fault as not applicable for a basis of refund. In which case normal distance selling regulations (DSR) still stands, and you can return it just because you don't like what you're seeing (was it two weeks or one month, can't remember).

edit: I'm slow...

It's been arranged for collection tomorrow so all being well a refund will be issued. Here's a pic btw, just so there is a record!
