Should I sell my 7800gtx and go ati?

Hello peeps,

I've been browsing away (as you do) and I seem to have come across a couple of threads where posters are saying that they have sold their 7800's and went with ATI's x1800xt.

I'm thinking about selling mine if this is the case (along with a few other bits and bobs) and I just wondered what you nice people thought about this

Any advice :confused:

I been thinking the same...Do i sell my two 7800gtx and go for a single xt1900xtx..

or sell one my 7800gtx now while the secondhand prices are still sky high and keep the money towards a G71 for when they come out..

Hi,

don't just copy other people (baa baa) make your own mind up what works for you. There is no point in trying to keep at the bleeding edge of VGA tech, you both have *stunning* graphics cards now stop wasting time asking silly questions and go play some games and enjoy!

Just finished playing through two levels of COD2...so i thougt i take a break and come here and ask some silly questions..

I want change mainly because i want a 512mb card...(don't know why,,just bored of my two 256mb cards..)

what? there is no point at all in doing this.. by all means sell your gtx for an x1900 but this is just stupid lol.

You think prices are sky high????

The best one (BFG) is only fetching around £260

The rest of them are now £240-£250

Just keep your 7800's, the X1900 wont be worth the expense.

Well given that X1900 is out in 2 days time you shouldn't even be contemplating a virtually nothing move to X1800.

I would wait until Tuesday and see what X1900 is all about before making any sort of move.

So i get about £500 for my two 7800gtx and one xt1900xtx is £399 plust £8 for post..leaves me with £90..

I don't pay VAT

Plus i really could do with a highend single daul slot card that exhausts the heat out the rear of the case...My shuttle gets very hot having two 7800gtx exhausting there heat inside a small case..

It was only because I had read that there was a good deal in difference to image quality that lead me to make this thread .... nothing wrong in that is there :confused:

All the highest score on 3dmk06 are 7800's.
I myself will go for the fastest card (my x800 @590 rocked 18months ago), is there going to be a 7900 ?

Which means diddly squat as the x1800 XT is the better performer in games which is where it matters over the 256mb GTX.

What i don't belive is..I payed £590 for two 7800gtx cards and i spend most my time when am using the PC on forums like this and browsing the web..

why do people buy gtx then go and sell then for less than what they buy them for then buy another that wil be outdated in few months

Ive just bulit a new system but im not going to change it for least another year when all the games stert jumping otherwise its a waste of money
