Hey all, you can see in my spec Ive got a h80 in a RV02. Is it worth going for one of these to replace it? my H80 is quite loud. Will the air cooler be quieter? I know my case is better for air cooling. I think I could sell my h80 for around 45ish and I can get the air coolers around this mark... Worth it?
Thanks

d14 for £41 ? snap it up its the best cooler overall bet they are both gone by morning cant recommend them enough £41 is a steal

No don't do it, just change the fans on the H80 for better ones, SB-E hex cores prefer closed loop water to high end air.

My experience so far is that if you overclock the CPU to say 4.7GHz my Kuhler920 (with SP120 High Performance fans) is struggling to keep the CPU away from TJmax running Prime95.

The H80 and Kuhler920 both have the thicker 120mm rad.

Need something bigger (H100 etc)

Phanteks and D14 are top dogs of air coolers. Others running in same pack are K2, Silver Arrow, Silver Arrow SB-E and SA SB-E Extreme is probalby leading the pack if you can stand the noise of it spinning 2500rpm, but is no louder at 1300rpm ;)

ok about to buy, but before i do, is SB-E better suited for closed loop water than the h80? Also, I have Ripjaws Z ram in there, going to be 8 sticks, in a silverstone raven rv02 case, will there be an issue in space? with a gtx 670&xonar d2 in there...
Thanks!

makes no sense to have water cooling in a raven case they are designed perfectly for the big heatsinks
