I've been with Be* unlimited for about 2.5 years now.

i've found it to be mostly stable and have had it permanently reduced to £12 a month.

recently it has slowed to about 5mb from it's peak of 6.5 (i'm on the 24mb package) this is due to the line being unstable at higher speeds!

i am seriously considering dumping the BT phone at £25 a month and going with Virgin where i an get the phone and 50Mb broadband for just over £30 a month.

should i stick with what i know or move onto Virgin?

i'm now completely legal so my browsing habits are fairly simple but with periods of heavy downloading from my PS3 and when i can convince the wife i will have an apple TV.

oh and the wife uses bbc i player a lot!

is that as a land line provider? i'm not really concerned about the internet as i have been with them before but was severely ''traffic shaped'' (won't have that problem this time i hope)

we've been with BT for 8 years now for the phone and leaving them is more concern than leaving Be*

This is the first time I have seen this thread so I apologise but there is an issue with downloading from PSN via Virgin Media. Have a look on Google. It seems to be permanently throttled and I have never seen more than 500kb/sec from it.

I've signed up to O2 UK/Be Unlimited Broadband a few months back, at first they were brilliant, I was getting speeds of 1.2mb/s on my downloads, but then I ended up going over 50GB Bandwidth and they limited me for a month (a hard month without downloading much). They have now gone back up and am receiving full speeds.

Try checking your telephone line, that was my problem 1 year ago.

i probably download about 25-70gb a month depending what's on psn, itunes etc etc

i was getting 650k downloads on be but the line became unstable after about a year and a half so now i'm down to about 480k and have been for about 6 months.

i'll look into the psn problems thanks for the heads up
