Should I think about getting a longer macro lens?

A few times I am finding I have to get just too close with my 100mm macro

Canon do a 180mm and I'm not really sure what other options there are

Of course with a 180mm and no IS I would absolutely need a flash system

I don't mind working towards getting this. But is the lens itself the only solution?

Sigma do a 150mm Macro with OS and is very good by all accounts.
