Hey guys. Im looking to replace my cpu from the 20th anniversary chip with a 4790k. I have a kraken x40 right now and ive never had to apply thermal paste as it came loaded onto it already. Does this CPU come with decent thermal paste? https://www.overclockers.co.uk/inte...ocket-lga1150-processor-retail-cp-539-in.html

Does it require a massive power source? Im using a corsair CS550M and currently have a 980gtx in my rig. If I don't have a big enough power to run stock settings(not overcloking by the way) and if the thermal paste is not going to be adequate for that cpu, what can you advise me on what to do next?

I render a lot of DSLR video footage and work on large scale images. Also started streaming lately and would like to get better performance and quality!
Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the replies guys! I'm using a H440 case too and while my sound is low I'm constantly paranoid about atmosphere temps inside. I have the blower fan on the 980gtx. Probably a bit of suffocation with the front panel still on. I don't really want to upgrade the motherboard so I'm looking at socket 1150 chips. There's low power models on OC which I guess would push lower heat scores along the way. Any ideas? They seem to come stock at 3.2ghz though, maybe a bit lower than I'd hope for.
