Hi all, :)

I have the Asus P5B Deluxe with an E6600, 2 gig Geil pc6400 800Mhz, 7900GTO and a X-Fi Extreme Music. Running Bios 0804, Everything is running fine no problems at all.

Now should i update the BIOS to the latest one? (1101)

I intend to start overclocking it in the next week or so, so would a BIOS update help in any way?

I didn't install my floppy drive into the system but could if i really need to. I also have a 1gb corsair flash voyager USB stick that i could use, but when i tried using EZ Flash it didn't show up. :(

So, should i bother and what if it doesnt work for some reason?

As i understand it EZFlash and a USB stick is the best way to do it, am i right?

What do you guys think, should i or not?

Cheers. :)

If it is running well - don't mess with it. Unless the BIOS supports a higher FSB, or corrects some fault with the hardware, why expose yourself to the risk?

As above - if it aint broke dont risk breaking it :p

Of all the boards ive had ive only ever flashed my forst bios yesterday and that was only to fix a boot issue i was having :)

Thanks guys.

So it wont help me get a better oc then?

The only thing regarding the FSB is on the 1004 update that says...

"Support CONROE E0 CPU(FSB 1333)"

But that one doesn't support rollback to older bios and that worries me!

Also, just out of interest. Whats the difference between the All OS and DOS versions? As i see it nothing, looks like the same file and all.

Thanks again. :)

Edit: Link to updates.

If you haven't got a 1333Mhz CPU then why do you feel you need it?

As others have said if your system is running fine then don't tempt fate by changing it.
