i've disabled windows update but that's only because i have a 3G dongle for internet. i can't afford the bandwidth to download them.
my windows folder is 14GB if anyone wants to compare the size of their fully updated install. that may give an idea of how you could potentially save but of course that would mean re-installing windows. i don't think uninstalling all those updates is going to work.
have you done other things like fixing the size of your pagefile (something like 2GB should do), disable hibernation and turning off system restore? just doing those would free up 14GB - assuming you have 8GB of ram.
You should run a hard disk as well with an SSD of less than 250GB in my opinion anyway. I have a 120GB SSD as my C:\ Drive and use it for Windows, apps I use a lot and 1 or two games. The rest of my programs and games run off the secondary drive.
With a 64GB SSD or lower I'd limit the Page file, disable hibernation and turn off system restore.
With a 128GB SSD I don't feel that to be necessary.
