Should I upgrade from a H50

Do you need the extra cooling? The noctua comes with disadavantages too - it's bulky and heavier, and harder to install.

If you need more cooling because you want to get to a higher overclock then by all means go for it, but otherwise save your monies.

i went from an eco coolit which is about the same as the h50 to a d14 and it was easy to install and lowered my temps by 10 degrees.

10 degrees is a bit drastic. Most official reviews I've seen give the load difference as ~4C. There's no doubt the D14 is the higher performing cooler, but as the OP already has an H50 installed, the question should probably be whether there's any point in the upgrade.

Thanks for the replys guys, I will consider it I think as lowering temps by 4-5c will take my peak temps from around 65c to 60c, I have a current overclock on the 2600k to a modest 4.2GHz
