Im currently running a 670 with a 3570k, a 600w psu, 16gb ram, but my graphics card seems to be slowly dying, according to my friend who had a look at it, started with, display drivers have stopped responding and recovered then the card started to heat up more, got to the point where it was overheating and doing it.

Its been cleaned, but still seems to get up at around 80 on load, so my question is. Should i Upgrade and if so what to, my friend wants me to move to a 970, another suggest that i save my money and get a gtx 750ti, so tbh im kinda stumped, if i went with the 970 which one, and likewise with the 750ti.

nope he was on about saving money and just getting a 750 ti, as that was all thats needed

No such thing as "all that's needed" unless you are just emailing and web browsing - in which case the absolute minimum spec graphics will do. Mid range graphics cards are there to suit available budgets.

If you're gaming don't forget 970's have a memory issue at 3.5GB 980's don't.

Andi.

Yeah i will be gaming, and i didnt realise that i run it on a 24 inch monitor btw, usually at 1650 or 1900 something. I dont think i could afford the 980 to much for me.

Depends what games your playing and at what details really m8, if your friend was recommending a 750ti to you, im guessing he knows that the games you play arent very demanding. If your looking at playing new games with nice graphics then a 970 would make a lot more sense.

I recently recommended a PC to a friend with a 750ti cause i know for him spending an extra 100 quid to go from medium to high settings in the games he plays is a waste of money.
