Should I upgrade or just overclock?

I currently have the i5 760 2.8Ghz (Standard out the box) and I've had it now for 2 maybe 3 years. I just recently upgraded to the R7950 (XFX) and its increased my performance in game dramatically, however, I just want a more powerful cpu. I was thinking of either overclocking (New to it all so it would be my first OC) to around 3.8 maybe even 4Ghz because that is what a lot of other people have OC theirs to so now I'm wondering, shall I just invest in a decent heatsink and OC this or just completely upgrade to something like the 3570K?

Any advice would be great

Thanks

William

The GIGABYTE GA-P55-USB 3

I take it if I look in the manual somwhere it will tell me if I can overclock or not?
And sorry what is Haswell? haha.

You should be able to overclock. Have a look in your BIOS. You should see settings for changing the CPU multiplier and voltage etc.

Haswell is Intels next gen chip. It will replace IvyBridge when it arrives.

Ah I see thank you. I will use the beginners guide on this forum then overclock it then when the Haswell drops I'll buy myself one of them.
