Should I upgrade parts or go for a new build?

Hi all,

My current spec is below, the computer is about... 6/7 years old maybe, with a couple of upgrades along the way (gfx card about 3 years ago, second SSD and new RAM quite recently).

I'm looking to upgrade to a PC which will last me another 6/ years with only minor upgrades, and I'll be honest I have little to no knowledge of current hardware.

Is it more economical to upgrade piece by piece? Can that be done with my current spec? Would it be better to go for the full new build and migrate a few parts, or just do a complete build and leave this machine as is?

Advice on parts would be good as well, budget is £1200 for my upgrades.

Thanks in advance for any help :)

The weakest component of your system is the graphics card. There would be a serious difference if you just upgraded that to a 1070. I would try that first and see how you go. Considering your budget it's a relatively cheap upgrade that will make a really serious difference. If you are still unhappy with the performance, you could then consider a CPU/Mobo/RAM change.

My case is the NZXT Phantom 530 White.
My PSU I have this image:

@Pocah thanks, would that card be a good one to last me another ~4 years or so including through potential other component changes?

also to add to that last post, I feel like a newbie again it's been so long since I did this - I can't remember how to check if the card is compatible with my motherboard! Is it the manufacturers site i need?

edit: ignore this one, i was being blind, found it :D
