Should I upgrade this XPS laptop before selling?

Not sure if this is upgrade advice or laptop advice - anyway I am a beginner so trying here and sorry if I got it wrong!

I got an XPS 15" 9570 i5-8300H geforce-1050 that I don't use.
Wondering if I should perk it up a little before selling on ebay or it's a waste of money?
It's got a stiff but working trackpad, scratched lid, 2h battery and the fans aren't as quiet as they used to be.
Currently has 8gb ram and a 128gb m.2
Getting compatible 16gb RAM and a 512gb m.2 for is like £50 (I don't mind the work, I actually enjoy it)

I definitely do like selling stuff that makes people happy and even if I don't make additional profit on my extra investment - if it sells faster, that's also good!

Hate for it to go to e-waste, it's still perfectly fine as a garage laptop or a home server but I already got a couple of spare laptops :D

Will you get an extra £50 for it with 16GB of RAM and a half gig NVME? You probably would so I’d say it was worth it, rather than a buyer being put off with having an extra expense to do so themselves., especially if they’re complete novices or don’t have the confidence to do the upgrade themselves.

As its got potential damage then maybe upgrade the ram, but id just sell it as it is and get what you can for it.

If you’re doing upgrades, how about replacing the fans and battery? Even repasting the CPU if you’re feeling brave.

CPU and GPU have been repasted. Fans are alright. They are clearly not as quiet as when I got that laptop but not like "Argh! I am gonna die!" kinda loud :)
Battery - the ones I found look too old (even if new stock). Made in 2022 and never used is usually bad for this kind of batteries.

By the time I am done with it, I won't wanna sell it! :D
