Should i upgrade this?

I use my pc for gaming mostly, I dont play in 4k atm but hope to soon and i was just wondering if i should upgrade my motherboard and cpu, I have the i5 3570K And GIGABYTE GA-Z77X-UD3H MOBO

I was thinking to get a Ryzen 1700 and A tomahawk motherboard but is it worth the upgrade honestly?

No gpu atm

Overclock the 3570k if it isn't already and drop in a decent gpu and see how you get on.
