should i upgrade to ati x850 xt

i've been thinking of upgrading from my ati radeon 9800 pro to ati x850 xt video card, but i'm not sure if i would get full speed from it. i'm running this system at the moment

athlon xp 1.7gh
1gb 2700 ram
400w power supply

With an Athlon XP 1700 i would certainly doubt it if it would be worthwhile. There should be no problem with the power supply but the cpu, and maybe the pc 2700 as well will hold you back. If you are seriously into gaming i would hold back and save up for a new build to be completely honest.
