should i upgrade to the antec 1200?

hi i was searching this site as i always do and i came across the antec 1200 case, omg it looks great and very big to! i have the antec p182 case at the mo which seems pretty good, it has superb cable managment cant fault it, just want to no if anyone has this case and would reccomend it or not, would like to no what the cable management is like as if its anywhere near as good as my p182 i may will invest!!

to be honest with you im not a fan on the 1200 its too small (depth) and your cards are too close to the hdds (front bays) for my liking.

if i were you i would look for something else that fits the bill. as you already have a pretty good case.

ok cool thanks for your advice mate, i went into ****** the other day and i must say they had some amazing looking cases and they were only around £30-£40 quid!

I m not a fan of antecs ethoir, they are not long enough particauly the 900 and you will have a fit with long cards

I would get a coolermaster scout or something on the lines, hell even a HAF932 is better but ugly

Well i have the antec 1200 and dont have any probs fitting anything inside it, theres great air cooling and enough holes for nice cable managment plus it looks great

. Well it ticks all the boxes for me.

got my 1200 yesterday and i looks great i love it, the cable management ispretty good all though i do have probs shutting my side pannel now withall the wires there, one question tho the case does not seem to have a pled motherboard cable, what is the cable normally used for i had one on my p182 case, the rig boots up fine just curious to no thats all.

One question regarding the fans, i have them all set to low and the cooling seems very good gpu 260 gtx idles at 40c and cpu at 33c, i want to add one more fan to cool my gpu a bit more, what will cool it better a side intake fan or the fan mount on the back of the drive bays?

All you do is cut the hdds cages up to make the cards fit, then you can have any length of card(s) you want.

But the point is a case costing as much as the antec should be able to fit the longer cards without chopping your hdd cages.

My 1 gripe with the 1200 (yes i am an owner) is the fact that the power cables on my 4870 are touching the middle HD cage. Still problem solved by all accounts when the 5 series ati card is released as they are supposed to be positioning them on the side of the card and not the back

Yeah the antec 900 is a bit cramped inside, but its a nice size case, cant be doing with huge cases. Heres pics of my antec 900....

As a P180 owner myself, if I were looking for a bigger case, I'd be shooting for the Corsair myself...
However, as you've already gone and dunnit, congrats with the 1200!

Cracking case is the Twelve Hundred. Best I've owned since the last "best I've owned" (Akasa Eclipse).

Size, features, cooling all brilliant. And, as ever, Antec warranty support second to none.... front panel connector fault on case, emailed Antec, new connector set from US in 5 days, which was brilliant.

I would not replace a P182 with a 1200. Similarly though I would not replace the eclipse with a 1200. Either move would feel much like a downgrade to me.

I feel I should mention that the £30 cases from ******s are really not the way to go.
