I currently have an Intel i5 760 2.8Ghz and have had this for a few years now. I have the XFX 7950 and now I want to know should I just buy a new CPU (ill need a new Mobo) or just buy a decent cooler (probably the swiftech or the H110) and just OC my current CPU to around 4Ghz

I used to have that processor but recently upgraded to a 3570K. Generally, tasks seem a little quicker and I get a few extra frames in games but nothing major.

I'd personally do as above and overclock it for now.

Just to confirm what others have already said as I am still running an i5 760 and it is more than capable of keeping up with the demands of newer software/games.

Mine normally runs at stock but will do 3.8Ghz easily with the cheap air cooler that I have.

So yeah overclock your i5 760 and it will be an instant upgrade in performance.

I was thinking of just leaving it stock atm and waiting for haswell is it? And just buy the best CPU that has to offer. But I do want to buy a H110 or an S220 to :/

Get it overclocked :D mines been at 4.1GHz for a couple of years now with no problems whatsoever. They've got ridiculous headroom.

Interesting thread... I'm in the same situation at the moment as well, been contemplating upgrading my i5 760 to a 3570k for a while now. Mines been running quite happily at 4.0GHz for more than 2 years and still handles most games well, but is starting to show it's age in CPU intensive games.

I would save your money on a cpu cooler and just wait for Haswell personally... this is what I'm going to do.
