Hi everyone.

I currently have the haswell i5 4670k OC @ 4.7ghz.

Got the upgrade itch ever since I purchased the vega 56 :D

I was thinking of upgrading my cpu/mobo.

Would It be a good idea to upgrade to the i5 8600k? Or should I keep what I have?

Thanks.

Keep what you have and wait to see just how good the new Ryzen is when it launches in the summer. If the rumours/hype turns out to be true AMD could upset Intel big time. A 8600k isn't much of a upgrade from a 4670k @4.7Ghz. Very nice overclock by the way.

Thank you mate. Any link to these rumours? Cheers :)

It all started with the AMD Keynote speech back in January (if I remember right) and if what was said turns out to happen then it should be very impressive. The Ryzen 2000 series isn't that far from Intels IPC and the 3000 series is a complete rebuild so if they can equal or even beat Intel it's going to shake the market up at last. There's a lot of good info/rumours/hype in the AMD Zen 2 thread although it's rather toxic in there. I stopped reading some time ago because I got fed up sifting through the usual AMD vs Intel bs.
