My PC is overdue for an upgrade, having a64 3200 and x1950 pro its not really cutting it for the latest games.
Now i keep seeing people mention waiting for new cores etc in jan, are they going to see a huge performance increase over the current cores to a degree taht it is worth waiting on an upgrade?
I was originally not going to upgrade until jan but i see all these deals on ocuk at the mo like the GTX in the clearance section and 24" monitor on this week only etc. Could save quite a bit at the moment were i to order.
Am looking to spend around the 1k mark, have already kinda specced myself a rig with the quad core/4gig ram/abit mobo, gtx/gts/gt, corsair 620, and the other malarky. The 1k includes the 24" on deal at the mo.
Now although this will be a MASSIVE increase over what i currently have, would waiting the extra few weeks see an even huger increase in performance for me? Also could anyone tell me how the new GTS stacks up to GTX. One thread said GTS better due to shaders yet a few more said GTX is still king, bear in mind i would want to be gaming at a fairly high res on that monitor for things like UT3, not interested in crysis.
