Ive been looking for a new monitor for my pc setup for a while now and was thinking of getting a IPS 24" panel (was looking at the DELL U2410 and HP LP2475W) but have heard of manufacturing defects and problems with tinting. Ive also seen that there are monitors coming out running at 100Hz. Im wodnering should I just buy a cheaper (but still good quality) TN panel for now and go for an IPS panel later on when they fix the problem with tinting?

Ive heard rumour of the HP ZR24W coming out, will this be better than the HP LP2475W or worse? I plan to use the monitor for general internet/microsoft office use as well as for gaming and maybe watching some movies. I currently have a 17" viewsonic monitor (not widescreen) so think it is time to get an upgrade!

I just bought the U2410 monitor after reading about the tinting issues. I went for it because it's the best monitor for circa £450 at the moment. It's a great looking monitor and pretty awesome quality.

I don't really have any pink tinting, but it is VERY slight top left. I've paid £450 for a monitor, I could send it back and receive an even worse monitor..

It's all relative really, and dependent on your budget.

Well My budget goes upto around £450 but Im not wanting to faff about with returning monitors etc and Im quite fussy, If I hear that there is a tinting issue and then notice it it will probably drive me mad. I wouldnt mind if the issue only affected a small number of monitors but it seems to me that a large number of them are affected and dell doesnt seem to be acknowledging the problem as a defect?
