Hey guys so i got around £350 to spend on a gpu and need it for gaming at 1080p. I was just wondering should i wait for the Sapphire Radeon R9 280X Toxic OC 3072MB to come out this week? or get something else? Thanks

It's been delayed for another week.

Maybe this?

This looks good value to me.

Darujhistan? Malazan book of the Fallen! I'm bone hunting at the moment. ;)

Just started reading the Malazan empire series!

Any 280x card would do the job on 1080p. Gigabyte cards have the advantage of UK RMA, platinum matrix cards have higher factory clock and better cooler for clocking. If you don't plan on clocking it much (you shouldn't need to for a long time), i would go for the gigabyte one or the one you find most appealing in terms of aesthetics.

I think you'll enjoy them, especially 2 thru 5. I actually think they work better as individual books rather than a long series, though I have still have the last two to read so I might change my mind on that.

Yes, the 280x looks like the new 7950 @ 1080p, both are really good value. And any 280x will do the job for a good while @ 1080p I would have thought.

The Toxic wasn't far off a stock 780 for £230 less.

i think a weeks wait is worth £50? specially since the toxic is faster than both of those cards

im personally waiting to see how much the 290 & X are going to be. i might buy one of them instead of a 280x

I'd say so, I'd wait but then I'm not the OP!

Yes, if you're prepared to spend, at very rough guesstimates £450-£550, then you need to have every option open.

God ye i hate wiaitng but the toxic card looks great and ye its getting on par with the 780 plus u never know something in the next week might happen, so ye guess will wait for now :)
