n650i-sli-ds4l mother board
8800gt alpha dog edition
seagate 7200.12

was just woundering if there is anything i should upgrade ?
was tempted to sli another 8800gt but dident know if it would be a worthwile upgrade ?
also wanted to know if i had to buy the exact same 8800gt or can i get a PNY/BFG 8800gt and still sli them ?

or should i just overclock my current system ?

thanks in advance :)

if its 1920x1080 maybe even grab hd4890

OC your cpu to about 3.7 - 3.9 ghz (get aftermarket cooler ofc)

also might wanna consider upgrading cpu later on, to 9400 or 9550; or maybe even i5 (phenom 940 also a good choice)

on the other hand, if it runs fine aion now, why u wanna upgrade?

oopsy sorry forgot to add ram :D i have 8gb running a clean install of vista x64 its the ocz gold stuff bought from here :)
**800mhz** as its all my board supports

there was another post on here comparing a 4870 with a 8800gt and sli 8800gt and the sli was a bit better, thats why i asked if i should sli ?

no man, you shouldn't

it will give some performance, but you will have to upgrade soon anyway

sell ur 8800, and get something like 4890 or gtx 275 - single gpu solution will give u less trouble

dont get 4870 unless you wanna save up on heating ur house in winter
dont get 285 because its pretty much same as 275 just double the money

heating idea seems good might use that excuse to the misses lol :D.
what cooler would u use on the cpu to get it to 3.8ghz ? atm its running @ 27degrese and 28 under load, i myself am confused at that. its all in a antec 900 case so good cooling

these are good temps

as for cooler:

prolimatech megatronix (its on offer right now as well)

or

Thermalright ultra extreme

titan fenrir is good choice as well

also, you have a fine case, why do you want to change it?

i dont want to change the case ? might go with the cooler and overclock for now then, does 27 - 28 temp seem right to you on a stock cooler ? thanks for all your help so far :)

to measure the temps download Real Temp

to test your cpu stability and find load temps, download prime 95 or linx

all that software is free

your processors max temperature is 72 C
so as long as you are at mid 60s at load you ll be just fine :D
