Should I ??

£200 for a 60Hz 27" TN panel?

Yeah, definitely NO.

It might have a low input lag, and a fast pixel response time, but as a whole, that's in no way a good deal.

In general, ultra low input lag and ultra fast pixel response times are practically empty features for consoles, as the FPS genre (which is usually the main audience for fast reaction time features) is handicapped by the controllers of the consoles. For Tekken-style fighting games, it might be justifiable. But then comes the question: how professionally competitive are you in that genre? If you're not, then a good IPS panel will give more benefit for you.

And if you're looking at this for computer usage (from your text, I take this is the case?), then you'll definitely be better off with a 120/144Hz monitor for both of the above-mentioned genres. And for general usage, IPS monitor is most likely preferable.

My personal opinion:
If you're going for a TN panel, then there should be no sensible reason to limit yourself at 60Hz. 120/144Hz all the way.
For IPS panel, 60Hz is probably the compromise you'll want to make, as the 120/144Hz tier is QUITE expensive.

Hi,

I currently had a 2 monitor set up on my old card (msi r9 280 ) , but I have upgraded that to the one in my sig.
Problem is my off hand monitor only has a vga connector so it cant be used with the new card (my fault I didn't research properly). Now my main monitor is a Samsung syncmaster s27390H, OCUK don't stock them anymore , so I was looking at making the Samsung my off hand monitor and buying a new main monitor , but I am totally confused as to what to look at.

I'm used to a 27" screen now so a smaller screen isn't an option really , so with Batman and witcher 3 fast approaching us I wanted a screen to really make them look good , im not going to spend silly money as the GF will not be a happy bunny , so in the region of £200 - £250 I reckon and I can sell my other off hander to claw some of that back ..hopefully !!

Any help as always is appreciated

If you are very serious about gaming, then 120/144Hz is probably the way to go. But for your budget and size requirement, the options are quite limited.

There is the Iiyama Prolite GB2773HS-GB2 for £260
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-121-IY
- it's a 144Hz TN panel, so there are compromises in color and image quality and viewing angles

After that, the closest 27" 144Hz is already £300.

BUT:
For the average player, 60Hz is adequate, in which case I would recommend a 27" IPS or VA monitor. I gave two recommendations in your other thread:

Asus SonicMaster MX279H for £260
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-048-AS

BenQ GW2760HS for £180
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-089-BQ

I've recommended these two models for general usage quite a few times, and I haven't heard anyone come back complaining. Both are 27" and 60Hz, and both seem to have very positive user reviews. The Asus is an IPS panel, the BenQ is a VA panel. Fairly similar in features. The BenQ is cheaper (and within your budget) and has flicker-free backlight, so I'd probably go with that. On the other hand, the IPS on the Asus might be marginally better for gaming.

Aside from those, there are quite a few to consider, though I haven't kept any tabs on them, so I have no idea how good they are, and won't go into any further depth with them:

Considering you have a capable system. I would highly recommend saving a measly 50 extra on top of your max budget and go for Asus VG278HE 27" 144Hz. Trust me when I say this, but with hardware, cheaper usually ends up being more expensive. The Asus VG278HE will be pretty damn future proof for pc gaming.
If you do anything such as Counter Strike, Leage of Legends, Battlefield its a no brainer. However, if you need extra inputs for console gaming, then yes take the BenQ, but I personally would avoid any 60Hz monitor, even if it was made out of gold and capable of 12k resolutions.
