Should Intel heatsink bend 775 motherboard

I've just fitted a standard Intel heatsink and CPU (775) to a motherboard and observe a significant flexing of the motherboard around the CPU. In additon, it required a significant pressure to clip it in.

Is this normal with the standard heatsink? Should I be worried?

From what ive heard this is normal as most of the intel boards dont come with a backplate to take the pressure

Yeah mine has bent slightly with the intel heatsink

Yes its normal......ive built many 775's and all of them have the bend

I must admit, I think it's a crappy design for the stock cooler to bend the PCB in this way........
