Should my experience be this smooth?

Whilst watching a players stream, it is so incredibly smooth and fluid, almost looks as if it's going in slightly fast-forward its so smooth. I'm fairly sure this is due to the stream being 60fps as opposed to the more common 30fps, as I've noticed the same in other 60fps streams.

Link to his last stream vod as an example http://www.twitch.tv/demuslim/b/370188031

Thing is, when I just play myself, it's definitely not as smooth as this. I have a pretty good PC, and can run the game solidly over say 100fps, but usually cap it with vsync to 60fps to match my monitors refresh rate.

So my question would be, is the game as smooth as it appears on stream for this player when he's playing? Or is it just through streaming that gives it that such smooth and fluid look for us watching?

Do others get the same smooth fluid gameplay? Or do I have an issue of some sort?

Thanks.

He is a top professional player, that is likely why it looks fast - because he plays fast. As long as you can play at the 60fps constantly there really is no difference at all, atleast as far as i know i am not into SC2 as much anymore.

My specs are:
i5 2500k
GTX 480
4GB Ram

And I have an LG W2361V monitor.

I can get a solid 60fps without it ever dropping beneath, but it's definitely not as smooth as the streams I watch that are 60fps.

I've played with all settings on the lowest, and all on the highest, and some inbetween, but have never experienced this kind of smooth gameplay that I'm seeing on these 60fps streams and videos, in any game not just SC2.

Also having a 120Hz monitor would be lovely, but still doesn't explain why a 60fps stream of a game is much smoother and more fluid that my 60fps game.

difficult to know without seeing it I think, you certainly shouldn't have any problems with that spec. Reckon you can make a video?

Yeah I was thinking of making a 60fps video and seeing if it looked as smooth as that stream or whether it's the same as my game.

Won't have access to my PC until later today but will make sure to do one.

So are you saying that I should be getting that same smoothness as in the video I linked then?
