Hello all.

So I bought a PC In October last year.

I know quite a lot about PCs as I have been tinkering with them for years however I don't feel that my PC is performing as it should.

I can play all games on Maxed out settings but seem to be struggling (only on some games) to be keeping a static 60FPS.

Now Is it down to the resolution ? as I know 1080p is the standard res for PC gaming but I have the ability to go higher so I do lol.

If possible I don't want to drop resolution as well... Higher res = looks better.

Here are my specs

i7 3930 3.3GHz Hex Core OC @ 4.6GHz
16GB Corsair Vengence Ram
120 Corsair SSD
2 x 3TB WD HHD
2 x 4GB EVGA GTX 680 (SLI)
Corsair H100 Water Cooled
1200w Corsair AX1200 PSU

Asus PB278Q PLS High Resolution Monitor (2560x1440)

Razer Mamba Mouse
Razer Tiamat 7.1 Analogue Gaming Headset
Razer Blackwidow 2013 Ultimate Elite Mechanical Keyboard
Razer Sabretooth Elite Game Pad
Wacom CTH-670S Graphics Tablet

Cheers for your help guys

Hmmm.

I use tried that Heaven Benchmark Test and sometimes it dropped to 15fps with an average of 20-25.

I will play a few games and let you know what exact games as just lately I have been playing non graphic intense games lol.

Ah right, That puts me at ease lol. I say my average FPS in BF3 is about 50-55 if I had to think back as I haven't played it in a while.

Ah you release me of my stress lol.

I bought the PC with my student money (saved 75% of it for a PC)

I did 3 years of music tech then went for an FdSC in Music tech, bought the PC then realized... Why am I doing music ? I'm a nerd, I love gaming and have done for many many years.

So I passed my first year and I am now starting 1st year of Gaming Tech in September.

So Good job I bought this PC really lol.

I do sometimes feel that SLI isn't working tho but that's prob because I cant see the GPU actually doing anything physically haha.

If you download EVGA Precision or MSI Afterburner you can make an on screen display which you can customise to show you usage and temp etc.

However My PC did struggle playing BF3 maxed out settings with 3 Asus PB278Q monitors All at 2560x1440 (7680x4320)

FPS 15 -30 Average 20-25.

Would this be expected ?
