So I just happened to be on Twitch and a developer's stream for a game I play came up (2k+ hours), so I clicked on it and posted something random in the chat, as people do on Youtube. About 10 seconds later a message came up saying account banned from stream or something. The next thing I knew the devs or a mod or someone had traced my account and found my game account (that was linked to twitch) and given it a perma ban. I contacted supported and asked them why I had been banned and they told me it was because of an incident in game, I hadn't played the game in months. I kept telling them this but they were not reading my messages, I am guessing something like this hadn't happened before and they really didn't expect someone who hadn't played the game in ages to get a ban. After I asked them how I could have done something in game when I hadn't played the game, I guess they must have asked who ever handed the ban, they told me that it was because of Twitch. They quoted me the user agreement stating what the game account (or alt accounts) could and could not do. They didn't seem to read or understand there own user agreement as it wasn't the game account or an account where it could be proven to be me, just an account with the same name (that was linked). I did get a temporary ban before for "hate speech" for saying things like "this map is s..." and calling people retards when they grief the game for everyone and wasted everyone else's time. They quoted me some of the messages they had and it was the exact same type of messages people send in the game all the time, you do wonder if they actually play their own game. I put in a GDRP request and non of the in game messages were there (or a lot of other minor things related to the game), I asked why and they told me that GDRP didn't extent to public data, or in other words if I was in a game or the external Twitch stream chat any chat messages could be stored without knowledge of the user and would not be given on request. They did however have a list of every process running on my system and my Windows login name stored from last time I ran the game, but that's irrelevant. I also put in a GDRP request on Twitch but got non-sensical responses vagally related to some of the words I had used in the ticket, I was told in the end that they "read" my request as a request for further information but they never got back to me and instead sent me an automated "did you problem get solved email".

But any of that aside, if I had posted what I did on twitch in game or on their forums that would obviously be enough for a ban, but it wasn't it was on a different platform altogether. And the second thing is that I have Asperger's, so should people with Asperger's be given allowances for doing the wrong thing. I keep getting banned for everywhere, mostly for legitimate reasons, or what would normally be legitimate reasons, but because of the way that I am I just do the wrong thing or say the wrong thing. Here I just don't really post that much because no one ever really cared what I had to say (although that's true for almost every post by someone here) and because I will eventually get banned, so I just read the forums instead.

Should people with Tourette's be allowed to swear on daytime television?

No, you try and restrict their input to more appropriate places and offer them treatment where you can.

I see what you're saying, they should give you an allowance because of your condition, but there should be no special cases. You could, alternatively, just go to streams which have no filtering.

Should someone with Tourette's be banned from a library for saying something randomly?

You would think someone with Aspergers would recognise the issue with calling people retards considering that the term is regularly used against people with disorders that fall under the autism spectrum umbrella.

Asperger's is associated with high intelligence, and is most likely caused by over development in the brain.

I thought this was a myth? Some people with Aspergers score highly on IQ tests but the majority score within the average range.

The problem in this situation is more related to social intelligence i.e. EQ and those with Aspergers usually need to learn to mask certain behaviours.

If you want a swift lesson, try using those insults on people in-person to see why doing it online still isn't acceptable. Disclaimer: don't do this.

Well there certainly isn't an association of any kind with low intelligence, this is one of the main difference with Autism in my opinion. And from the people who I had met it tends to be those with Asperger's are average or above average while though with high functioning Autism tend to be below average but with abilities in certain areas. But the issue is with social ability, hence the question, should those with decreased understanding in what is acceptable in certain situations be subject to the same standards.

Yes, they should, primarily because unless you start giving people badges how are those handing out the suspensions and bans meant to know you've got Asperger's until you tell them?

Well obviously, not saying everyone should be given allowances because there might be a mitigating reason for their actions.
