Shoulder/Messenger Bags

A Barbour one and a Paul Smith one for the MBP. Also have 2 Ted Baker Flight Bag (it's the size of a magazine) for the iPad.

The Ted Baker is the daily.

I don't take my MBP out with me, even I find the 13" (2010) is quite heavy.

The key to get the right bag is look for strong connection between the strap to the bag. A direct stitching breaks easily, you want one with a metal ring in between to change the force and direction which is the strain out on the stitching.

I have a GORUCK Echo. Made and shipped from the states. Expensive but absolutely worth the price. I use it daily and it holds up to all sorts of abuse. Fits the 13" MBA perfectly in the almost concealed padded rear pocket and the iPad mini inside a long with a couple of books and whatever else I need.

GORUCK GR1 is top of my christmas wish list.

A cheap option that should be pretty good is the Incase Compact backpack. I've not opened mine yet, however reviews suggest that it is a very good choice, especially for the money.

Got one of these while I was on holiday in Korea.

Funny thing is, it's a Swedish brand. I like it, lightweight, plenty of space and compartments, I've actually not even opened the front flap bit yet. I'm going to take a look now whats under there.

EDIT: Lots and lots of compartments underneath that front flap. I might actually end up using this as my carry on bag when travelling. Good thing is when it's not full or there's not much in it, it very lightweight and compact.

Had mine for at least a couple of years now. Well worth the money, use it quite a bit (not daily but often enough). Very nice and feels very light even with all my stuff in it. Quite subtle looking as well. :)

I've got a Hidesign briefcase and a Barbour messenger type bag. Both take my 15" MBP comfortably and safely. I prefer the briefcase as it feels a bit more solid and I can cram more stuff in. It's quite heavy when empty, let alone with the mac and accessories in, but it feels strong! It's a couple of years old now, purchased from John Lewis. Being the style it is, it goes as well for casual use as it does business.

Barbour is in the car so I only have a photo of the Hidesign.

I actually like that. You really pay like £200 quid for a bag though?
