Shouldn't I get 60 fps with a 970?

i5-3570K
8 GB RAM
EVGA FTW 970 (the fastest factory overclocked 970)
EVGA 750W PSU.

In Far Cry 4 at Ultra detail (only motion blur changed, I turn it off) at 1680x1050, I definitely don't get 60 fps constantly. It drops to 25-30 regularly (where there are a lot of fire/smoke particles etc.).

Latest NVIDIA drivers,

Does that sound about right?

CPU shouldn't be a problem.

Are you hitting ridiculous temps? Even that shouldn't cause such a massive drop though to be honest. Not sure!

smoke and stuff sounds like physx. check to see what the physx is set to use. gpu will handle it better than cpu i beleive.

so make sure its set gpu.

i could be wrong though. i found the nvidia hd audio drivers where causing a problem with my gaming. i removed them from in the add/remove programs thing.
