Hi There.

Recently hooked up my PC to the LCD in the bedroom, I've been hunting around for the best Keyboard/Mouse for the job, until i stumbled across something named "KeySonic 2.4Ghz Wireless Compact Keyboard", basically a laptop keyboard with the touchpad, seems perfect, does anyone have one or know any alternatives?

Also, show me yoru setups! :D

Thanks!

I'm after a keyboard too.
The Microsoft one is not good from reading reviews.
And I dont like the "KeySonic 2.4Ghz Wireless Compact Keyboard" - looks big and ugly

yeah ive got one of those keysonic keyboards and its really good - been using it now for about 8 months and still on the original batteries that came with it

I bought the keysonic recently and it seems very good although my only grip is that having the scroll bar on the touch pad offsets the pad slighlty to the left and I keep touvhing the scroll section.

I have a DiNovo Edge, don't use it in combination with a HTPC.

It's really pricey, but pretty nice once you get used to it.

Only annoying thing I find with it is that you need to hold down the function key to access the media controls, can be a bit annoying if you like to flick through music quickly. The volume control on it, is not as responsive as it could be. The touch pad can be turned on and off really easily and does come in handy and works like a normal touch pad on laptops, i.e you can double tap etc.

You might want to look at, Gyration remote control, heard a lot of great things about them and come in at the same price as a DiNovo edge. In particular this model: Media Center Universal Remote Control and Compact Keyboard Suite (Windows Media Center Compatible) The remote control also acts a "pointer" which can come in handy in HTPCs

Another Edge user here, I find the controls in general are a bit flaky from time to time. They just seem to totally drop off, especially the glide pad then come back. I presume this is the bluetooth range but it's only about 6-8ft away from the PC... :(

My MCE remote is....

....

The Keysonic keyboard is a very good piece of kit, it is compact (easily fits on a small side table) thin and light with a good action and the integrated scroll function is effective, definitely the best option on a budget, I have used mine without problems for 6 months with Media Centre.

If you're talking about the remote, then you're a idiot. It's a fantastic remote, and I'd rather have that that a Pronto, which looks nice but is rubbish to use.

Details...details..please!!

I have downloaded and uploaded to my SE phone a HID remote control file which has the standard preset control layout for MCE (I also have winamp/wmp etc) and I have a bluetooth dongle on my PC which the remote control found on all SE modern models have can interface with.

Just pair the phone with Windows and the rest is done via the phone. You can even control the mouse with the joystick :p
