*** Show us your bikes! ***

Nothing planned yet, was just a mention really. Perhaps we should start a new thread for it and get some timings etc sorted?

Picked up my winter hack :p

Ever since I roadtested the SuperDuke 1290R earlier this summer I wanted one, I just couldn't justify the outlay of brand new, so I picked up a near new one, just over 4 months old, loaded with powerparts and evotech bits.. (£1200 worth)

Just going to get a decat pipe (and maybe an Austin Racing end can, not too keen on the Remus, but it'll do for now) and a few crash protection bits for it.

 awesome bike.

I think I saw your S1000XR on ebay whilst browsing bkes for sale locally - 7000 miles, a few months old, and the ad said you were looking for a naked bike ;)

You gonna be riding that through winter, or tucking it away until spring?

That's a decent price Unkle (60 seconds of ebay snooping found the ad ;)) - basically a brand new bike but with the powerparts book thrown at it!

And of course as it's still got the KTM warranty you don't have to get your pants pulled down by dealer prices to get a warranty.

Thanks guys (nice bit of stalking TallPaul ;))

Yeh it's an everyday bike, my commute is a nightmare in a car only 11 miles but can take an hour. Only 15/20 mins on a bike.

I'll be treating it to some ACF-50 before they start gritting, only time I won't be using it is when it snows.

What's the quality like compared to the BMW? I think KTM only concetrates at their top range models, the cheaper ones (even 690's) are cheaply made... the Duke 690 sounds like a diesel VW. lol

Very nice, got mine acf50'd last weekend, well see how it stands up over the winter. I'm not one for polishing and drying, it gets used and abused so we'll see.

That's what the bike should be, no point in polishing and drying it or not going out because its raining.

BTW I bought 1 day insurance for my dad's 250hp 9-3 Turbo, its so fun! :D :D :D Now for the money I spent just for this 1 day I could go to a good club and buy some expensive drinks. But that would be boring, cars and bikes give you so much more fun! :D

Edit

I really can't imagine in how much trouble a 200hp bike can get you in, you floor it and in no time you get 3 digit figure on your dashboard. :p
