*** Show us your bikes! ***

Yeah 1300cc they are,I don't think the 08 had traction control,no big deal you'll feel the rear spin up,just be gentle with the throttle in the wet

My zx10r does it

Insurance is only £500 for the year, a bit higher than I would like but not extortion.

mines is a gen 2 so it is upgraded to the 1340cc for more power :)

No TC on the 08 models, no ABS either. My TC is my right wrist.

Only just now saw this area on the forum and thought I would say hello!

I passed my DSA at 21 back in 2012 and bought this lovely old bird from my Lecturer at college. A VFR-750F RC36 imported from California.
Great first bike with just the right amount of power and even after doing 56k miles still ran perfectly.

unfortunately it is restricted to 'only' 186 mph haha. First time doing a 1/4 and i had taken the bike so I legally got to go fast :)

I've gotten roughly 150ish in just over a 1/4 mile, motorway surface conditions in Scotland are horrid. Would have to go down south maybe to the M6 toll!

Get a TRE on her :D

Pop over to ukbusas.org, great bunch of guys on there with a wealth of knowledge.

Full of cameras on there,m6 and m6 toll
Shame, I remember many years back being told it was always empty.
She is already a handful launching and keeping the wheel down with the 1st & 2nd restriction. I was thinking a Power Commander rather than TRE though, time will tell

I am part of Hayabusa Scotland with Carron Valley MC club, done a couple of charity runs with them so far. Haven't poked my head round to the UK site just yet

Looking at the price of the TRE and the gains on a stock RK8 which is the same as mine.

Just over 170 at the wheels... fun
Even with a pinch of salt, roughly 15bhp extra for 89 eur... My christmas list might've gotten a bit bigger with a new TRE and K&N filter hahaha

A pc won't remove the restriction, although it's worth getting one and having a dyno and new map session if you have other mods done.

There's plenty of Scottish lads on there, couple of big meets up there each year.
Also a lot of the top speed straightliners guys who do the runway weekends:cool:

I only have aftermarket end cans on it at the moment, trying to find a decent twin/two side exit exhaust system is hard. All the yoshi systems are single side.

I'll have a look and sign up to the UK site tomorrow, would be good to speak to people are experienced in drag racing so I can demolish the Crail days :)
Only ever done 4 runs; 1 stalled, 1 got heavy wheelspin, 3rd was good but careful launch and 4th was slippery with light rain haha, 11.2 is my best so far.

You won't need a PC with just new cans, with a full system you'd be best getting her on the dyno.

As said a lot of the top speed and drag guys on there, a very friendly and helpful bunch of guys. Lot's of turbo, NOS and s'charged bikes on there:)

As far as I was aware the gen 2 airbox is nearly perfect short of sealing the ram air ducts which is a PITA, but correct me if I am wrong. I haven't spent a lot of time looking at that just yet.

Not sure mate, they will know.

I've got a gen 1 trike:D The airbox mod works well on those.
