Has it been left sat unused for a while?

It looks like it wasn't used much prior to the previous owner, but it has had nearly 4000 miles put on it since July.

I'm thinking of maybe putting some redex through it? I also bought some carb cleaner spray, although I'm not sure how to use it (if I have to dismantle carbs, or if i can just spray through air intake).

Congrats, and steam/vapour is normal for this time of year so I wouldn't worry, take it on a long half hour plus ride so it can get warmed up

Thanks for your response. I'll take it out for a longer ride and see how it is. Fingers crossed it does disappear.

You will have better luck with seafoam rather than redex. But nothing will beat pulling the carb off and giving it a decent soak in carb cleaner and blow out with compressed air.

Personally I wouldn't mess,carbs are a pain once disturbed

It's just hot exhaust gasses condensing on a cold exhaust,or it was a cold day showing up the hot exhaust gasses same way as your hot breath will show up

That mileage is nothing btw

This.

Unless you are finding a problem with the engine when riding there probably isn't one. Keep an eye on the oil level for a bit and if they don't change then put it down to a characteristic of the bike.

Note: V-twins get through oil faster than in line 4s typically

Dont i just know about this oil depletion on v twins thing now :( my cbr rarely lost any between changes. Had my firstorm a month and already topped up.

You need to be incredibly meticulous with carbs and exact settings and turns of screws. A half mm washer in the wrong formation on a needle will reek havoc, not to mention carb boots needing replacing. I was tortured with carbs for months until i learnt the hard way. But once she was running right my god it was worth it :D

I'm now very tempted by the new MT07. Not too sure on the quality though, some parts look a bit crappy and flimsy, but then it is under £6k. Love the noise it makes and the style.

£2k deposit on a new one and it'd only cost me £60 a month repayments. Hmmm :p

Really?

Why would you have one alongside your Speed Triple? They overlap a lot.

what is she?

The winter vfr750 batmobile is home I had a set of boots fitted before I picked her up.

Local dealer had four bikes turn up the other day and bagged a vfr800 for himself for winter so I had the 750.

Cost £45 to add her on my insurance disgraceful :p
