Are there any good routes around Loomies? I never usually go around those areas...

Edit: That's 6 people :D

All of the routes near Loomies are not the greatest for anything other than by the book riding. Because of all the bike traffic there is always a police presence near

It's the same reason the only people who know the routes for the group rides I go out on are the 1 or 2 guys planning it so it doesn't end up plastered over FB and give the police time to start camping out in the bushes.

Hi

Don't think i've put up a photo of the finished bike, bit of a difference lol :D

Here's a ton of pics from a recent Biker Social Scotland run out to Strathyre, a good few Aprilia RSV's in attendance, I'm the one in the Orange/White Dainese leathers sat on the red RSV:-

Nice bike :), you can never have enough Aprilia's on the forums lol, I do like the Gen 1s would love to ride the pair back to back and see if there is much of a difference

From what I know, talking to other Gen 2 owners, the Gen 2 is smoother feeling, a bit more free revving and obviously more powerful. But the 'brutal' and urgent power delivery of the Gen 1 seems to be missing from Gen 2's. This seems to be why some folk ride a Gen 2 after a Gen 1 and mistake it for being less powerful/quick. It isn't, it just puts the horses down through the back tyre in a different manner.

Gen 2's are also physically smaller and the seating/riding position is a world apart from the Gen 1. The Gen 1 is a big bike which is why I like it as I'm 6.0' tall and weigh 85kg. I still maintain that there are very few things either 2 or 4 wheels on the road that will come anywhere close to a well ridden Gen 1 Mille and live with it when it comes to point to point riding on real world roads. Certainly none of my mates new bikes like S1000R's, Panigale's and Gixxer 1000's can get the jump on me when we are out for a run. Ok, they are marginally quicker here and there and on a straight you can see a wee difference but there's not much in it. Especially noticeable as mine has been fettled a little bit.....ahem. ;)

The only thing I hate is the dash on the gen 1 models.

Ugh yeah when I first got the Tuono making sense of the buttons with the manual was mind-boggling but luckily there is a cheat sheet online somewhere. Couldn't they have just printed the function of the button on rather than A B C D.

The Gen 2 is better, but some stuff is still weird - like the 'mode' setting actually getting you into the menu, and having to go into the diagnostics menu in order to change from mph to kph!

I've downloaded a owners manual in preparation but it doesn't tell you some stuff!

Bloody Italians :D
