Ah yes, almost forgot. Passed my theory on Weds finally. Flying colours too.

I spent £5 on an app which was awful and didn't offer much. I also failed twice whilst using it (although my heart wasn't in it to be fair).

This free app is spectacularly good, spent a few hours on it and smashed the test. It's very logical too. Can't recommend it enough.

Now to book my DAS :D

That's a very nice machine, congrats :D

HP is BMW's high performance parts catalogue, that's what HP stands for, not sure if the wheels are extras though.

https://www.bmw-motorrad.co.uk/en/wear/hp-parts.html

Doing a bit of online sleuthing - seems that they are forged wheels, so guessing that unless they are standard on the S1000R, the previous owner might have added them on; in which case, thanks buddy :D

Now to book my DAS :D

Good job, though sadly, it's MOD 1 and MOD 2 fun these days, I was thankful to get in on the DAS the last year it was available. Though all the best!!

Picked this up yesterday, my first "big" bike. Can't wait to get my licence now.

BMW F800 GS :) had to remove a mirror and screen to get it in the van :)

Nice - is that a Nitron shock on it? Don't think I've seen that colour spring used in anything else...

Also, best shape BMW behind it - loved the 220CD I had for a while, and that shape never seems to age imo

Looks like hyper pro rather than nitron.

Looks like a great bike for your first big one either way!

Popped in the garage for some bits to clean the car and she's looking lonely.
Just don't have the time to get out today, shame as the weather's prefect

Wee run out to Anstruther to make a start on scrubbing in brand new Michelin Road 5's. Would have tried Road 6's but my mechanic guy struggled to obtain a pair in time for the MoT yesterday so went for what he had - 5's. Been using them for ages on my RSV Mille and they feel every bit as good on then big Tango missile :D:cool::D

Still a bit chilly this afternoon, thank goodness for factory fitted heated grips :p

Cheers, @Griffo

Loving the KTM.......may look at one or a similar style ride for next year. With the Helibars fitted as mine has, he big K1300 is comfortable but I'm not getting any younger and a bit more of a 'sit up' style bike beckons I think. I've still got the RSV Mille to cripple myself if I want to :D

Thanks yeah the GT is more upright I'm pretty sure. I went one further and added some SW Motech 'bar back' things. Made it a bit closer to GS ergo. At least on the top half.

Beep beep :D

I know it's just a 125, I know it's just a scooter, but the journey I've taken to get on two wheels again has been worthy of a Pulitzer :p

Loads of firsts since I was a teenager. First time on a motorized two wheeler (on the road, legally!) being the biggest one.

And buying everything new with no compromises has made it all that much sweeter. Can't wait to take it for a proper out-of-london ride, might do Brighton this weekend, weather permitting :D

Nice. :) how long it take you to get to Brighton? 2 days?

Couldn't be doing with a naked tank any more, so added some Stomp grips and a tank pad:

A bit more bling than I'd have liked, but way cheaper than the BMW offering - you can also just about see my ghetto phone charging solution; have a DIN socket + QI rated charger under the rear seat, with a USB-C running to the front of the bike :D

Didn't go in the end, but commuted on it for the first time today. It was nice, but I really need to work up my confidence and my low speed handling. I still ride like miss daisy and whilst I don't want to ride like a hooligan, I don't want to hold up the others trying to filter through traffic either, which is what I found myself doing a few times today :(

Don't think like that mate. Fold your mirrors in when filtering and do your thing. Riders behind you can sort themselves out.

Also remember nobody actually wants to go to work so you're helping them out if you are slowing them down :D

And paraphrasing my dad with regard to driving: you're the one driving your car, not the person behind. So don't let them influence the way you ride your bike.
